fragments of an attempted writing.

I listen to this about once a month.

  1. Owen,
    [Only tangentially related:]

I was just reading through the Manifesto, and I think I begin to understand some of the Dobsonista problem (I'm new to this, so here's me showing my slow-on-the-uptakeness):

"The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation into a mere money relation."

So the irony being that while 'that crowd' rails against the destruction of the traditional family in America, they support a social system which is ultimately inimical to the preservation of the family in any meaningful sense. Am I reading this correctly?

  2. I love Zizek. Endlessly entertaining and once in a while he has some witty things to say that make sense.
