Good Lord, we're not the only ones. We spent our post-partum days (my wife and I) with the Oxford Very Short Intros to Kant, Hegel, and Heidegger - a German triad and an awkward introduction to the world for our little girl.
I love the VSI's! Those and Coplestone's History are things I would save from a burning building after the people were out. Given that I'm a heavy sleeper, I'm sure I'd be the last one out anyhow.

ReplyDeleteThe series is kind of addicting.
Agreed. This is my third of a dozen or so I hope to get through before the end of August.
ReplyDeletePeter Singer, atrocious views on infanticide and all aside, actually did a rather fantastic job on Hegel.
ReplyDeleteGosh. All I read post-partum was The Velveteen Rabbit. (Dangerous reading post-partum. You cry a lot.)
ReplyDeleteAdorable kids, BTW.
